SAVE THE TOWN OF INDEPENDENCE!

There has been a petition filed with the 4th District Court to disincorporate the Town of Independence.

  • The Town of Independence provides local land use control for the residents and has done so for the past 18 years.

  • Without the Town, local residents would have no control over the development of thousands of acres of private land that is within the town boundary. Development decisions would be made by Wasatch County.

  • The Town Council and Planning Commission work together to protect residents from increased traffic on Center Creek Road and Duke Lane.

  • The tax burden of Independence is satisfied by the sales tax collected due to its Resort City status. If this status is maintained, the residents will not be asked to pay a property tax to the Town.

The Town Council would like to provide more education to the residents about this urgent matter. Council members want to serve you and need your input regarding this topic. You can use the Contact form on this website, or call, text, or email any Council Member.
